About Us

Pastors-Jeff and Heather Francis are the pastors of Liberty Church in DeSoto, TX. Heather also serves as the Youth Pastor. They both care deeply for our community. They are especially interested in strengthening families and building a better future for our children. Jeff has been in ministry for more than a decade. Heather serves as an Assistant Dean and teaches courses at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. She has a Masters of Science degree in Counseling. They have three girls - Marissa, Ally, and Gracie. Jeff has a great way of communicating biblical messages in a practical, encouraging, and humorous way that applies to every day life. They'd love to hear from you if you have any questions or comments. You can e-mail Jeff at jeff@churchisgreat.com.

Kid's Pastor-Kellie Breaux moved from South Texas to be a part of the team at Liberty Church. She heads up our ministries to children and leads Kid's Church each week. You can contact Kellie at kids@churchisgreat.com.
We value children of all ages. We believe that you can change the future by changing a child. This is why we make ministry to babies, toddlers, children and youth our priority at Liberty Church. We're proud to be a family-friendly church.

Kid's Church-Bring your kids each Sunday morning at 10:30 AM to experience church, KIDS STYLE! While the adults are in "big church", children (ages 3-12) will of course learn more about God and how to serve Him, but they'll learn it in a fun, interactive way. Our Kid's Church is full of games, drama, puppets, activities, songs, stories and more.

Worship Pastors - Mike and Chere Blair both grew up around the Southwest Dallas area and have a special place in their hearts for this community. Chere is an instructor in the teacher education department at SAGU, and Mike is finishing his degree in Church Ministries. Mike's both a handyman and cook, and he plays the guitar in our worship team, and Chere, who loves reading books and cracking jokes, plays the keyboard. They like to spend time with each other, family, and friends, play with their dogs, and enjoy their baby boy, Aidan. They and the rest of the worship team believe that the musical part of worship should first exalt God and strive for the music at Liberty to be full of the passion we feel for God, an honest expression of our love for Him. They also believe that music is one way to draw people to God and strive to make it relevant through a blend of current styles. You can contact them att worship@churchisgreat.c

Purpose Statement - Why We Exist

We believe that there are five things that God has planned for Liberty Church to accomplish.
We exist to...

FELLOWSHIP with believers
EVANGELIZE
the unchurched,
EXALT
God, become
DISCIPLES,
and
SERVE
others

Vision Statement - What We're All About

To see the UNCHURCHED become FULLY DEVOTED to God.

Have you ever met someone that you thought would never even come to church, much less actually become a Christian? Picture that person coming to church. See them accepting Christ and regularly attending church. Now, see them volunteering to help lead a small group. Picture them fully devoted to God. That's what we are all about. We want to see people with no interest in God become fully devoted to God.

Core Values - What Makes Us Unique

We believe that the local church is the hope of the world!
- There is nothing more beautiful or life-changing than the local church when it is what God intended for it to be. It is God's plan to reach the world for Christ through the ministry of the local church. Church is great!

We believe it is normal for a believer to be fully devoted to God!
- We strive in every area of life to be fully devoted to God. The picture of a fully devoted believer is someone that is fulfilling all five of God's purposes for their life... Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, and Evangelism.

We believe every believer should be in a small group!
- We were never meant to live the Christian life alone. A small group provides the friendships, encouragement, support, teaching, and accountability that we all need to grow in Christ.

We believe we can change the future by changing a child!
- We make ministry to babies, children, and teens our priority at Liberty. We have exciting and safe activities for kids of all ages. We are proud to be a family-focused church.

We believe in being a church for the unchurched!
- We want to be a church for people who don't like church. Many people feel that church is outdated, boring, and irrelevant. We provide a fun and exciting atmosphere to talk about how the Bible works in every day life. God and the church are relevant to the problems that we face today.

We believe that every member is a minister!
- If God calls you to be a part of Liberty Church, then God has called you to serve here. God has given you unique talents and abilities that you can use to minister to others. In order to find life, you must give it. A great way to serve God is to serve others.
